Where Passion Meets Innovation
Personalized Art Class at RM
At Rose Marie Academy, we believe in nurturing each student’s unique interests through a blend of creativity, research, and hands-on learning. Our Personalized Art Class for the 2023-2024 academic year, part of our innovative STEAM curriculum, emphasizes student-led projects, allowing students to delve deeply into subjects that ignite their imagination.
This year, one of our students embarked on a fascinating journey through the world of vintage cameras and typewriters, blending history, technology, and art. Starting with his passion for vintage machines like Olympus, Canon, and Pentax cameras, he explored the intricacies of these devices, studying essential functions such as aperture, shutter speed, and depth of field. Through careful research and hands-on experimentation, he created a series of perspective drawings that captured the beauty and mechanics of these classic cameras.
As his project evolved, he shifted his focus to typewriters, where he learned the fundamentals of their function and design. From studying the oldest typewriter used in Thailand to developing an understanding of each part of the machine, he gained valuable insights into how these iconic devices shaped the world of writing. His dedication led to the creation of detailed working drawings and a three-dimensional model, showcasing both his artistic skills and technical understanding.
Throughout this course, the student was encouraged to apply critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity—hallmarks of the integrated design framework used at RMA. Whether refining his initial ideas or overcoming challenges, he learned to modify his designs, adapting them as his project progressed. This personalized approach allowed him to deepen his understanding of vintage technology while developing new artistic skills.
Join us at Rose Marie Academy, where our Personalized Art Class enables students to transform their passions into innovative, thoughtful creations that bridge the gap between the arts and sciences.
